North City Blues Year Five

Along with the start of the 2025-26 season, we were so excited to kick things off with a bang, as we approached the fifth year of our North City Blues Learn To Play program featuring students from St. Louis KIPP schools, Friendly Temple Church, and this year's new addition, Atlas Elementary!

The fun kicked off on October 22nd, 2025, when our new hockey players took to the rink for the first time, many of which was their first time ever stepping foot on the ice. The first weeks of the program begin with learning the fundamentals of skating; the very basics that are vital before the kids can move on to hockey skills. Our terrific BYH coaches bring the energy and creativity each week, as the kids continue to progress their on-ice abilities.

But the excitement in every day of this program is not contained to the ice! We were so happy to continue our partnership with the National Blues Museum, as their team provides the off-ice activity each week for our young athletes. Each week provides a new activity for the children to delve in to, putting an emphasis on the power of music.

We are looking forward to continuing these sessions into the new year, as the kids continue to grow both on and off the ice!
