Robert Bortuzzo Joins Little Blues Session
Surprise guest coach time! Participants in our Fall Two session of Little Blues were in for a treat, as recently retired Blues alumni, Robert Bortuzzo, joined the group for Weeks 4 and 5 of the program.
Bortuzzo, spent 14 years in the NHL, 10 of which came with the St. Louis Blues. As a Blue, Bortuzzo appeared in 424 regular season games, recording 54 points (16g, 38a) and 320 penalty minutes. He also played in six postseasons with the Blues, including the 2019 postseason, where he scored two goals, helping the Blues capture their first Stanley Cup Championship in franchise history.
He also spent four seasons with the Pittsburgh Penguins, and one year each with the New York Islanders and Utah Mammoth, before retiring after the 2024-25 season. Overall, Bortuzzo appeared in 577 career regular season NHL games, posting 76 points (20g, 56a) and 533 penalty minutes.
On top of providing some expert knowledge to the kids and joining our groups for some fun drills (including some time playing in net), Bortuzzo gave each participant a autographed player card as practice came to a close. It's safe to say, these kids have had an exciting couple of weeks in our Little Blues program!
